About Me

Words and writing have always held a special place in my life. The day I opened a magazine and saw the words I had penned with my name beside them, I knew in some way I had to be a part of the publishing world.

My first year at university brought me into a writing community, pushing me in exciting directions and challenging me to explore writing in new ways. Working as a copy editor for the university’s annual chapbook gifted me with a professional publication experience, and that was it for me—I was in love! Editing and proofreading allowed me to pursue my passion for writing and silence that fussy voice in my head that protested every time I saw a comma in the wrong place or a sentence that needed re-worded.

Since my first stint as a copy editor I have worked as a writing magazine intern and freelancer, discovering opportunities to edit and proofread a wide variety of genres and formats along the way.

My professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Writing and History (Rochester College, Michigan, USA) and a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing (Newcastle University, England, UK).

When I’m not glued to my computer, you’ll find me on the beach hunting for antique treasures or in the kitchen baking goodies to satisfy my sweet tooth. I am an avid lover of the outdoors, all things L.M. Montgomery, and cats.
